Sue Ulrick lives in Northern Chatham County, NC with her husband, Jim.  She has always loved stained glass art in many forms and collected lots of ‘suncatchers’ as well as a few larger pieces.   She began working with glass in the early 90’s when she took a class in Raleigh.  When she retired from her professional job in 2001, she was able to devote more time to a hobby that became a small business.  Then in 2004 a friend introduced her to kiln formed glass and her work began to evolve from foiled stained glass pieces to kiln formed art.  When she got her first kiln that year, it was time to learn new, fun techniques.   In 2005, she moved her studio from her home to The NC Arts Incubator in Siler City, NC to add a larger kiln and work with other artists.  Using a variety of glass, each piece is hand cut and kiln formed into a functional or decorative art for use in the home or garden.  She loves to incorporate color and texture into her work which is constantly evolving. The possibilities are endless.
