Lori creates contemporary pieces of fiber art employing the traditional techniques of rug hooking. All pieces created are hand-dyed, hand-hooked and have either a hand-whipped edge or are framed by the artist.
Observing land from an aerial perspective has led to a series of striped works. Mountain and crow themes came about as she and her husband built a second home along the Blue Ridge Parkway. These pieces are vivid and alive, exaggerating the natural color and beauty of nature.
Lori’s work has won multiple awards, been juried into venues including Artspace, the American Craft Council Spotlight show at The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft, and the Elaine L. Jacob Gallery in Detroit, MI. Her work has been photographed for Shuttle, Spindle and Dyepot magazine and she is an exhibiting member of the Carolina Designer Craftsmen.
