I grew up in the Florida Keys and learned to knit by the ocean. I have always been interested in traditional crafts and in Southern culture. As a handspinner, I work to create yarns that are beautiful and functional, but that also incorporate histories and narratives through color, texture, and materials. I am especially interested in how surrounding our human bodies with animal fibers can be transformative. I also study visual anthropology as a doctoral candidate at Emory University.
